Success Story: Employee Goes Above and Beyond

Our employees are the driving force behind everything we do. This inspiring story of how one team member, Kenny, went above and beyond in a time of need, perfectly reflects our mission in action.

Kenny W. never expected that a routine work order would turn into a life-saving moment. While heading to install a wireless communicator for a subscriber in his community, he arrived earlier than planned due to a scheduling change. When he knocked on the door, he heard the TV playing inside, but no one answered. Concerned, Kenny called the subscriber’s sister, who encouraged him to keep trying. Still, there was no response.

Trusting his instincts, Kenny contacted the property manager for a welfare check. When they entered the home, they found the subscriber unconscious on the floor. Acting quickly, Kenny checked for a pulse and breath but found none. He immediately called 911 and, under the operator’s guidance, began chest compressions. After a few tense moments, the subscriber gasped for air. EMS arrived shortly after and transported her to the hospital, where she received the care, she needed.

Kenny’s quick thinking and calm actions in a critical moment made all the difference. Since the incident, Kenny has kept in touch with the subscriber’s sister, who is overwhelmed with gratitude for his dedication and heroic efforts. It’s moments like these that make us incredibly proud to work for a company filled with extraordinary individuals who embody our mission to make a difference every day.
